The house is home to the country’s largest collection of paintings by artists of the Staithes Group – Yorkshire’s impressionist artists, who painted around Staithes, Runswick Bay and Whitby as the Staithes Art Club from 1901-1907. Many of its thirty members trained in Paris at the Academie Julien, and so brought over to Yorkshire their experience and style of the French impressionists.

9:00 AM: We’ll pick you up from your hotel or accommodation in York.
10:00 AM: We’ll make good progress through the picturesque English countryside, passing through charming picture-book villages.
11:00 AM: After a quick stop in Helmsley, we’ll begin our journey across the high North York Moors and head towards the East Coast.
12:00 PM: We’ll wander down the rugged and captivating Yorkshire coast, exploring some of England’s most idyllic seaside spots.
1:00 PM: We’ll head to Whitby, where you’ll find various delicious lunch options.
2:30 PM: We head to Whitby Abbey, where you can soak in the
breathtaking views of the North Sea and enjoy a sweeping view that has inspired artists, romantics, thinkers and daydreamers for ages.
3:30 PM: We arrive at Brockfield Hall, where you’ll be warmly welcomed inside for a private tour just for you. You’ll be thrilled to see paintings that capture the very spots on the coast you’ve just explored.
4:30 PM: Treat yourself to tea and cakes at the house which are included with the tour.
5:00 PM: We’ll take you back to your York hotel or station.
